Nice new hotel with clean decor and good service. Wall insulation could be thicker, as sounds seemed to travel room-to-room somewhat easily. Rooms seem to have everything you would want including refrigerators. I would stay here again.
It's brand spanking new! Friendly hosts, pool, awesome rooms! Other than being in the middle of nowhere, this hotel has got it all. If you're passing though, I would definitely recommend.
I have cause to travel to Altoona for business several times each year, and leaving aside the benefits/risks of that fact, I can say without equivocation, that this is the best Altoona has to offer in terms of accommodations. Less than a year old, the hotel still has that "new hotel smell", and the staff still had that new staff enthusiasm. Seriously, the furnishing are ultra modern, and the rooms are bright and clean. Breakfast is better than average, and Holiday Inn has extended their breakfast hours for those of us who are in no hurry to get out of their extra comfy bed. WiFi is strong, even when the hotel is fully booked and your room is at the far end of the hall. Bathrooms are spacious with sparkling fixtures and plush towels. Even the clothes iron is brand new and hi tech! Ample well-lit parking lot, friendly and accommodating staff, etc etc etc! I can't even nitpick a single problem... In short, it's a 5/5-star hotel you'll not regret booking. Enjoy!

My first stay in one of the remodels . The updated hotel opened a year ago. The staff is friendly, the room was clean and quiet. The rooms and common areas have a very modern feel. I was very impressed and will stay there whenever I am in the area.
