Boscov's is a nice looking bldg but I think the second floor definitely needs better organization.
This is a great all around store; great selection of clothing, plus furniture, kitchen, bath, drapes/curtains, electronics, etc. A true department store in the classic sense, with great prices as well. This is fast becoming a must-stop when shopping in the area.
The second item we couldn't find was on the second floor and it was the vacuum cleaner section. I honestly can say that without directions I never would've found them.
The customer service was really good in the shoe department and lacking in the vacuum department. We waited 15 minutes for someone to help us even though we were the only customers in the vicinity.
No restrooms on first floor. People with mobility issues are at a huge disadvantage. Seems like a form of discrimination to me. Love the clothes though. Not sure whether I'll shop elsewhere.
It was nice and clean, my first time ever in one of their stores. It was relatively easy to read the signs to find some items, like the clothes and bedding. Other things we needed to ask for help. We had to ask for help twice because the items we needed weren't easy to spot, like children's shoes.
Children's shoes are located in the far left corner of the store neatly tucked out of site. Which doesn't differ from JcPennys but at least theirs is by the grownup shoe dept. and kids so it makes sense.
I don't shop there that much but two lady's who were checking people out I thought they were very rude with two older ladies in front of me. I almost put my merchandise back and just walk out of the store. They need to respect people and you don't just throw peoples merchandise behind you like there not standing there. It really upset them you could tell just the way they looked at each other and I thought it was very ignorant!
I don't think that this is the store for me but I may shop here occasionally if they have a good enough sale.
I love this store. The Holiday decoration sections and the kitchen section are amazing. I can alway find a good deal on new sheets that are great quality. Their deals on furniture and mattress are great too with really affordable finance options. This is one of Altoona's Best department stores!
