Since I am moving to the Altoona area for a job, I recently went to Howard Hanna Johnston Realty looking for a place to rent. The administrative assistants could not be ruder or less accommodating (the realtor had to prompt them to actually greet me), and the same realtor (when I saw him briefly for those 30 seconds) did not seem to have the time nor interest in my business. They did have a lot of houses to look at (which you have to go out on your own and find), however, they ranged from decent to downright scary. This was a rather fortunate occurrence because the last thing I wanted to do was give them my business. I can only assume since the real estate business is suffering in our present economy, that could explain their lack of interest in me, a renter.
