Today is Memorial Day. A sad day for me and many of us, but I went to the cemetery to take my flowers up as I always do. What an awful surprise awaited me.
Shame on you, Calvary Association.
I went up last week after they cut grass. What a mess I came up on. My son and my parents stones were completely covered with old dried out grass. I was appalled. There is supposed to be perpetual care?I cannot belive that after they cut grass and use the weed eater that they can't use a leaf blower over the stones. these are our loved ones in your care and they deserve much better than this. You might want to redo your commercial because right now it is NOT the most beautiful cemetery in our area.

The cemetery, St. John's, owned and cared for by Calvary, never bothered to cut the grass for this special day. The cemetery adjoining it, St. Mary's was beautifully cut, even the hedges, so Calvary can't blame the rainy weather as it did not hamper so many other cemeteries as I have since found out.
Regretfully,
If I had only known what a wilderness I was to find at my two graves, I would have gone up ahead of time and done it myself or even hired someone to do it for me.
Literally the place people are dying to get into
I do not live in the area but I have been to St. John's Cemetery and Calvary 3 times in the past year. At times there is grass on tombstones and I clean it off but I have found this at all the cemeteries that I got too. With my genealogy work and work for Find A Grave I go to a lot of cemeteries though out the year and I usually have to dig out tombstone which takes a lot more time than cleaning grass of tombstones. The staff at Calvary Cemetery is one of the most helpful cemetery offices I have ever gone to. They go out of their way to find out information on extended family for me and if they don't have it readily available they search until they have exhausted all avenues and I am talking about people who died around 150 years ago. I am sure if you tell them what needs done they will get someone to take care of it.
